There is no anonymous institutional voice to hide behind — the argument belongs to a named writer, and so does the responsibility for getting it wrong.
Vichar Opinion is the opinion desk of Vichar Media. Entries are written by different contributors, each bringing their own beat, record and reasons. Read the byline on any piece to see who is making the case, and hold that name to it — the argument is theirs, not a faceless desk's.
What we cover
Four beats, deliberately chosen because they are where the arguments are live and unresolved: Builders — the people and companies making bets the market hasn't priced yet. Power — who holds it, how it is used, and what it costs the rest of us. Culture — the stories a society tells itself, and which of them stopped being true. Future — the technologies and decisions being made now that will be hard to reverse later.
The standard every entry is held to
An entry earns its place by taking a position that could be wrong, and showing the reasoning well enough for you to attack it. No embargoes, no sponsored take, no house line to protect. Where a claim is contested, the entry says so. Where the writer doesn't yet know, the entry says that too. Where the writer gets it wrong, the correction goes in the open — the same place the error was published.
A byline is a promise that a specific person, with a specific point of view, is willing to be judged on a specific argument. Everything else on this site follows from that.
How to challenge anything here
Every entry is open to being argued with, on the record. If you have a document, a counter-example, or a better reading of the same facts, it is welcome — and if it holds up, it gets used and credited. That is not a courtesy to readers; it is the only honest way an opinion column stays worth reading.
